A. A. A. D. D.
Do you have A. A. A. D. D.?I have recently been diagnosed with A. A. A. D. D.
(Advanced Absentminded Attention Deficit Disorder)
This is how it goes:
I decide to wash the car; I start toward the garage and notice
the mail on the table.
OK, I’m going to wash the car, but first I’m going to go through
the mail.
I lay the car keys down on the desk, discard the junk mail, and
notice the trashcan is full.
OK, I’ll just put the bills on my desk and take the trashcan
out, but since I’m going to be near the mailbox anyway, I’ll pay
these few bills first.
Now, where is my checkbook?
Oops, there’s only one check left.
My extra checks are in my desk.
Oh, there’s the coke I was drinking.
I’m going to look for those checks.
But first I have to put my coke further away from the computer,
or maybe I’ll pop it into the fridge to keep it cold for awhile.
I head towards the kitchen and my flowers catch my eye; they
need some water.
I set the coke on the counter, and uh oh.
There are my glasses. I was looking for them all morning.
I’d better put them away first.
I fill a container with water and head for the flower pots.
Uh oh…..someone left the TV remote in the kitchen.
We’ll never think to look in the kitchen tonight when we want to
watch television, so I’d better put it back in the family room
where it belongs.
I splash some water into the pots and onto the floor, I throw
the remote onto a soft cushion on the sofa and I head back down
the hall trying to figure out what it was I was going to do?
End of the Day: The car isn’t washed, the bills are unpaid, the
coke is sitting on the kitchen counter, the flowers are half-
watered, the checkbook still only has one check in it and I
can’t seem to find my car keys.
When I try to figure out how come nothing got done today, I’m
baffled because I KNOW I WAS BUSY ALL DAY LONG!!!!!
I realize this is a serious condition and I’ll get help, but
first I think I’ll check my email…………….

Sounds like my typical day. Thanks for the morning laugh it always starts the day out right.
lol. And I thought I was just getting old. I run around like a mad woman and accomplish very little. I thought it was a lack of focus, it’s a relief to find out it’s a real condition… AAADD. Well, got to go get ready for water aerobics, Lord knows how long that will take….!

Lol oh god can I relate to this!!
I started to comment, but the buzzer in the kitchen went off…so I took off the brown rice I made and then realized I had left the blueberry tea I was seeping in the kettle…and so I had to make some, then I saw that the kitty had managed to pull off the string I hung around the pantry door for him, so I fixed it then came it here and said…oh, I think I will look at some more blogs…and chuckled when I saw the one I was going to comment on before the buzzer went off:)
I think I can relate to this one:)
rofl Chrisie!! Too funny! :o)
Omg, this is so me!!! Lol!

That was hilarious. I loved it!
You make me laugh, and oh this is me to a tee…..so If us women are all running around acting crazy like this, and well still managing to Get the Stuff done (so be it in a roundabout way)why are we the ones who pack on the pounds I mean after all this stuff we do…lol…..
Sounds so familiar. I blame it on my meds but the problem has been there a long time so maybe I just better blame it on age.
Wow! I didn’t realize there is an actual condition for this sort of thing! I can relate 100%. I do this all that all the time and wonder why nothing gets done. I feel the most guilty about it at work. I start all sorts of stuff and end up forgetting to do half of it. Uggghhh!!! Any cures?
